Our narrative all started in 1999, with 10 sewing machine and 20 worker, during the climax of China’s industrialization era. In a small cramped workshop. The very beginning.

The business was built upon the foundation of durability and quality; upon the belief that we can win over customers if we try our best in delivering the best quality and craftsmanship.

However, it is hard to deliver such confidence in our products without our own factory. It is in the year 2003, that we opened up our first factory. It was the only way for us to ensure quality and enjoy the freedom to create. 200 WORKER STRONG.

At the time, foam padded backing was the trend for excellence. First excelled at foam padded backing system, a very difficult technique at the time that incorporated many elements such as different layers of air mesh.

Quality, craftsmanship, they are all relative terms without the support of a good design. It was in that moment of realization: Janboots was born. While maintaining the same level of intensity in upholding the highest quality, Janboots invested more time and resources into its design.

Janboots is not only a brand that we created, it is a manifestation of our factory. Janboots design is the perfect amalgamation of functionality and style, of design and quality. As traveling has become such an ubiquitous commodity, bags and luggage have become staples of any style of travel, anyone. Students. Businessman. City dwellers. Adventurers. Wanderers.

Janboots has grown since then, but we’ve never strayed from our roots. We pride ourselves with our level of quality in both material and craftsmanship, making genuine products that is designed for the wear and tear our adventures throws at us.

As of 2016, Janboots acquires its design based in Vancouver and Munich. Once again history repeats itself, a perfect balance is create, combining the toughness/raggedness of the Great North American Outdoors, and the elegance and style of Europe.
